President Obama on Tonight Show
If you haven’t heard yet, President Obama is going to be pitching his economic stimulus plan on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Thursday evening. Although Obama has previously been on the show as a Presidential candidate, this is the first time ever that a sitting president will be in such a venue. Following Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke’s appearance on 60 minutes this weekend, Obama’s scheduled interview reflects his commitment to ensuring transparency and getting his message across to all Americans. Don’t expect any ground breaking comments or new announcements from Obama, he’ll be reserving those for more official settings. Instead, expect him to be mildly optimistic in the hopes of restoring confidence.
